Locations and Travel
Chapel of Agios Georgios
Agiou Georgiou 3 P.Ο. 166 71, Kavouri - Vouliagmeni.
The nearest airport ✈️ is Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos). A taxi ride from the airport takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic, with taxis readily available upon arrival. Alternatively, the airport is linked to the metro to reach central Athens, from where Vouliagmeni is easily accessible by taxi. 🚕
Where to Stay
Vouliagmeni is a beautiful summer beachside destination and the ideal choice for staying close to the wedding. Nearby areas like Voula, Glyfada, Alimos, and Palaio Faliro offer a vibrant atmosphere with shops, restaurants, and hotels. For a quieter stay, consider Vari, Varkiza, or Lagonisi, located south of Vouliagmeni. Alternatively, Athens City Center is perfect for exploring the historical heart of Athens, just a 30-40 minute drive away. 🏖️
Getting to the Church and Venue
The chapel is a 7-minute drive from Lake Vouliagmeni, but walking between the two is not possible. Situated on a forested hill with narrow streets, the chapel may experience congestion if another wedding is scheduled, so please plan extra time.
Driving: Open parking is available at the chapel, and free valet parking is provided at Lake Vouliagmeni after the ceremony. 🚗
Taxi: Taxis can take you directly to the chapel. Please pre-arrange or call a taxi for the trip to the lake, as hailing one near the chapel is not possible. We recommend Asteras Taxis 🚕
Kindly let us know in your RSVP if you would prefer a shuttle mini-bus service between the chapel and Lake Vouliagmeni. 🚐
